The rapid development of Southeast Sulawesi province is supported by its natural resources. Nickel deposits are formed through the erosion process of harzburgite rocks, which contain a high amount of olivine, pyroxene, magnesium silicate, and iron. These minerals have unstable properties and are easily decomposed. Nickel is a composite material used in the iron industry, construction industry, and household appliances. Based on data from the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources in Southeast Sulawesi province and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the potential for nickel in the region is significant, with a distribution of 480,032 hectares and a hypothetical deposit reserve of 97,401,593,025 tons spread across the districts of Kolaka, North Kolaka, South Konawe, Bombana, Konawe, Buton, and Bau Bau City. It has become common for licensed nickel mining businesses to face the challenges of high production costs and limited resources, requiring miners to be creative in addressing these issues without compromising the expected outcomes for landowners. One aspect that is felt is the limited funds and the change from the purchasing system previously used by local smelter plants, which was Freight On Board (FOB), to the current Cost And Freight (CnF) purchase contract system. As miners, in every mining plan, we create a production cost budget where all expenses are allocated to monthly production targets. We have to reconsider the existing cost budget for the loading and shipping process to the buyer’s port. This means that our production targets may be disrupted due to the expenses that should have been allocated to meet the published production goals.
